Carlick Furniture: The BOHO Project
BOHO in Glasgow was one of the most ambitious and creative projects that Carlick Contract Furniture undertook in 2019. The luxury student accommodation at Scotway House in the heart of Glasgow city centre is built on the former site of the listed building of the same name, which had been demolished two years earlier due to a fire which devastated the interior.

Craig Inglis, CEO of property developers Structured House Group who set up BOHO said that:
“Scotway House will be home to the next generation of changemakers along the Clydeside and we want our residents to have a great experience, to socialise, and to thrive in the city.”
“BOHO is a brand, driven to create new communities and designed to attract free thinkers with an adventurous soul.” And this forms part of the inspiration behind the design of the project.
The residential space features a roof terrace, cinema, gym, group and private study pods, courtyard garden, group cooking, dining area and a TV/gaming area.
Working alongside KKA Interiors, Carlick Contract Furniture was tasked with producing feature 3D lettering, which housed the entrance to the gym area, bespoke study pods, kitchens in the group cooking area and a bespoke conference sized table to aid studying and socialising.
Carlick’s involvement began in late 2018 with the project opening in September 2019.
Neil Harrison, Managing Director of Carlick Contract Furniture and lead on the BOHO project said:
“One of the most challenging elements of this project was the development and manufacturing of the bespoke, 8ft high feature lettering as they are not something we have been asked to do before. Each letter had a specific purpose with the B housing plants, the first O is a seating unit, the H is a TV stand and the final O is a walkthrough to the gym. We love a challenge here at Carlick though, so it was a good opportunity to get our thinking caps on.”
This fantastic looking project was a Winner at the Northern Design Awards in the Amazing Space Category.
