Designer’s Muse: Junea by Peter Roth, Burgess

For this months short film we visited Burgess Furniture to find out more about their latest product release which breaks the mould from their previous product offering, moving from their classic selection of stack-able chairs to a stylish rocking chair, that still uses the same metal bending techniques that is used in their full collection.

For the film we interview Peter Roth, Head of Design at Burgess to find out a little more about the inspiration behind the chair, following the product journey from initial sketches to the finished product.

The Burgess story is a fascinating one, originally starting their manufacturing journey in creating bicycle handlebars under the name GB Handlebars, GB standing for Gerald Burgess. Gerald moved the company on to create stacking chairs after seeing a gap in the market, and since then they have been manufacturing stacking chairs for the last 55 years.
