Event Report: Clerkenwell Design Week 2026

Clerkenwell Design Week continues to step up year after year, and 2026 was a joy to experience. With new showroom openings, vibrant partnerships and a packed programme of launches, talks and installations, CDW once again showed the strength of Clerkenwell as a commercial interiors destination.

This year, one theme came through clearly: the balance between biology and technology. From AI, digital twins and smarter data to biomaterials, circular thinking and human-centred design, the conversations pointed to an industry looking for progress with purpose.

Could Clerkenwell Design Week continue to challenge Europe’s major design events? It certainly feels increasingly confident.

This Event Report captures the standout moments from across the festival, celebrates what caught our attention, and highlights the conversations shaping the future of commercial interiors.

Let’s dive into the details!

Across the week, four clear observations stood out.

Product Launches Became More Considered: There were new launches to discover, but fewer major reveals than in previous years, with many brands instead expanding existing collections, introducing new models, broadening colour palettes and refining material options.

The Appetite for Knowledge Sharing Was Clear: The talks programme was expansive, and often standing room only, showing that designers, suppliers, manufacturers and specifiers were actively seeking ideas, discussion and collective learning.

Technology Met the Human Hand: AI remained part of the conversation, but the most interesting discussions moved towards digital twins, world models, biomaterials and the balance between new tools, human judgement, craft and care.

Connection Remained the Heart of CDW: From daytime meetings to busy after-hours parties, Clerkenwell Design Week once again showed that the strength of the commercial interiors community lies in its relationships, generosity and shared energy.
