For Thirdway, the answer was to create a headquarters that reflects the way the business works today, bringing together architecture, interiors, branding, furniture and technology under one roof.⁠

Designed around the idea of a `home for the office`, the space balances collaboration, creativity and wellbeing, while acting as a living showcase of Thirdway`s multidisciplinary approach to workplace design.⁠
⁠
When designers become their own client, every decision carries a little more weight and the result offers an inspiring insight into how today`s workplace is evolving.⁠

As people work later in life, workplace design needs to support a wider range of mobility, strength and accessibility requirements. Yet one of the most frequently used spaces in any commercial building, the washroom, is often overlooked until compliance becomes an issue.⁠
⁠
Fitzroy of London is encouraging designers, developers and commercial property owners to see accessibility as a long-term investment, not a reactive measure. Thoughtful design decisions made at the specification stage can help create workplaces that are more inclusive, more adaptable and better equipped for the workforce of tomorrow.⁠
⁠
Perhaps it`s time we stopped thinking about accessibility as a specialist requirement and started seeing it as good workplace design.⁠
